Time Management

One of the vital skills of a professional working in dynamic conditions is time management, which in my case, in my work, in my place at IPP Technologies is not an exception. Now, I’ve always considered myself rather good at such things as organizing my work and completing assignments on time, but I realized that there are times when I take too long for some of the assignments and this affects how productive I am in general. By not allocating my time wisely between the several responsibilities that I undertake, at times, I find myself pressed for time on objectives that require greater detail, for instance the crafting of strategies.

In Britton and Tesser's regard (1991), appropriate time management means not only planning but also adapting and changing one’s strategies during course of action. In relation to it, I have begun to keep record of the amount of time which each activity actually takes and modify my calendar in connection with it. To avoid being lost in the lots of tasks I have also deployed such tools as Trello.

Reflection: This reflection has also enabled me to appreciate the fact that there is always an improvement to be made in the way I manage my time. There are positive changes which have been observed in either productivity of the work or even in the quality of work due to the changes made in time allocation. In the future, I will revise these strategies again to ensure that I continue to manage my time efficiently and achieve a number of tasks of high quality within the deadlines.
